France has begun recruiting for a new voluntary military service, aimed at young people aged 18-25, with a duration of 10 months and a salary of 800 euros per month.

France launched on Monday the recruitment campaign for the national voluntary military service, announced by President Emmanuel Macron in response to external threats, especially from Russia. The program, aimed at young people aged between 18 and 25, aims to form a military force composed of 80% young people aged 18-19.

In the first year, the recruitment of 3,000 young people is estimated, with a target of 10,000 annually until 2030. The remuneration will be 800 euros gross per month, with meals and accommodation provided for free. Interested young people can apply online or through recruitment centers. The process includes skills assessment, a physical aptitude test, and interviews. Selected candidates will begin service in the summer, with one month of training, followed by nine months of activity in France, without deployments to conflict zones.
