On Thursday, France and Norway announced a bilateral agreement aimed at supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, which has been ongoing for nearly four years. French Defense Minister Catherine Vautrin confirmed that Norway will purchase a 'large volume' of glide bombs from France. The agreement allows the two countries to cooperate in donating defense materials, either through purchases from the French industry or through donations from French stockpiles.
Norway will contribute approximately 4.2 billion Norwegian kroner (371 million euros), while France will guarantee a loan of approximately three billion Norwegian kroner. The agreement includes the purchase of air-to-ground weapons, as well as surveillance and analysis capabilities, although specific details have not been disclosed.
