France has announced that it does not intend to respond favorably to the invitation to join the Council for Peace desired by Donald Trump, emphasizing that the initiative raises important questions related to the respect of UN principles.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country's commitment to the UN Charter and mentioned resolution 2803, which aims at humanitarian aid for Gaza. Canada, on the other hand, stated that it will not pay for a permanent seat on the Council, but is willing to occupy a temporary seat. The invitation for the Peace Council is valid for three years, and a permanent seat costs one billion dollars. Romania has not yet made a decision regarding participation. The Council was initially designed to oversee the reconstruction of Gaza, but has a broader objective of addressing armed conflicts globally.
