The agreement, dubbed the Northwood Declaration, marks the first official coordination of the two countries' nuclear arsenals, underlining their commitment to European security in the face of growing threats. President Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the creation of a joint committee to oversee the cooperation, which is essential to deter adversaries. While each country retains independent decision-making processes, the step strengthens European defenses amid uncertainty over US support.
