A court in Braunschweig has sentenced four former Volkswagen executives in the Dieselgate scandal, in which the company used software to falsify emissions test results on diesel cars. The convictions include prison sentences for two of the defendants, while the other two received suspended sentences. The scandal cost Volkswagen more than €30bn and led to numerous lawsuits. The trial of former CEO Martin Winterkorn was postponed for health reasons.
