Ford is to lay off 4,000 employees in Europe due to financial losses, mainly due to lack of demand for electric cars.

The layoff decision comes amid weak demand for electric vehicles, a lack of government support for electromobility and competition from Chinese manufacturers. Most layoffs will take place in Germany and the UK, and Ford has called on the German government for more investment in charging infrastructure.
