Fitch says the 15% tariff hike imposed by the US will not change the EU's rating but will add to existing economic pressures.

Financial ratings agency Fitch has said that the increase in customs duties of 15% on imports from the European Union will not immediately lead to a downgrade of the bloc's long-term rating. Although the duties are significantly higher than last year's, Fitch believes they will not significantly alter economic forecasts. The EU's 'AAA' rating has been affirmed with a stable outlook, but the agency warns that the tariffs could intensify existing economic pressures.
