On March 5, an anchored oil tanker off the coast of Kuwait suffered a powerful explosion, damaging one of its tanks and causing hydrocarbon leaks. The ship's captain reported hearing the explosion on the port side and observed a vessel leaving the area. Fortunately, the crew is safe, and the incident did not lead to a fire outbreak. The UK Maritime Safety Agency UKTMO has advised caution for vessels in the Gulf region. The incident occurred more than 60 kilometers from the port of Mubarak al-Kabeer, outside Kuwait's territorial waters. In the context of tensions in the Middle East, recently, a container ship was attacked with missiles in the Strait of Hormuz, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran claimed control over this strategic passage for oil trade.
