A devastating explosion occurred in a Waldo's supermarket in Hermosillo, the capital of the state of Sonora, Mexico, resulting in the death of 23 people, including minors, and 11 injured. Governor Alfonso Durazo confirmed the incident and ordered a detailed investigation to determine the causes and responsibilities. The Sonora state prosecutor indicated that the explosion was likely accidental, related to a transformer inside the store. Most of the deaths were attributed to inhalation of toxic gases, according to Attorney General Gustavo Salas. Mexico's President, Claudia Sheinbaum, expressed condolences to the families of the victims, in the context of the country celebrating the Day of the Dead.
