Iran would need approximately a year to develop a nuclear weapon, an estimate unchanged since last summer, despite American-Israeli attacks, according to assessments from U.S. intelligence services, as reported by Reuters.

Assessments of Tehran's nuclear program remain largely unchanged even after two months of war launched by U.S. President Donald Trump, partly to prevent the Islamic Republic from developing a nuclear bomb.

These attacks, which began on February 28, focused on conventional military targets but also included nuclear facilities.

Although the attacks have significantly damaged Iran's nuclear capabilities, it appears that the stockpile of highly enriched uranium (HEU) remains intact, complicating efforts to prevent the development of a nuclear bomb.

The war entered a period of suspension after a ceasefire on April 7, but tensions persist, especially amid Iran's blockade of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. officials continue to emphasize the importance of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and current estimates reflect the difficulties in completely destroying Tehran's nuclear program. Additionally, the assassination by Israel of some Iranian nuclear scientists has added uncertainty regarding Iran's ability to develop a functional bomb.
