Inflation in the euro area fell to 2.8% in January, according to Eurostat, but is still above the ECB's target of 2%. The highest inflation rate was in Estonia at 5%. Finland and Italy were at the opposite end of the spectrum, with the lowest price developments. The ECB will maintain a tight monetary policy to bring inflation back to the 2.0% target.
