The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is in Saudi Arabia and Egypt to discuss deepening bilateral relations and regional developments.
In Riyadh, Erdogan will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to address the necessary steps in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties. On Wednesday, in Cairo, he will co-chair the second meeting of the Turkey-Egypt strategic cooperation council, alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, with a special focus on the situation in Palestine. Erdogan will also participate in a business forum in Egypt.
These visits are part of Ankara's efforts to rebuild security and diplomatic relations with key partners in the Middle East, in the context of tensions generated by the war in Gaza and concerns related to the security guarantees provided by the United States.
