Egyptian diplomatic chief Badr Abdelatty has announced that Egypt is willing to join any international force in the Gaza Strip, but on condition that it has a clear mandate from the Security Council. In the context of a new ceasefire proposal for Hamas, Palestinian officials are discussing the reactivation of Palestinian state institutions in Gaza. The conflict escalated after the Hamas attack on October 7, which killed thousands. Previous mediation efforts were unsuccessful.
