Albanian socialist Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Tuesday that he has accepted the invitation from American President Donald Trump to join the 'Council for Peace', an international body proposed by the US leader. This initiative involves a one billion dollar fee for states wishing to become permanent members. Rama stated that Albania firmly supports US efforts to promote global peace and security. Approximately 60 states have been invited to participate, including authoritarian leaders such as Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, but the European Union and France have expressed reservations about this initiative, considering that it could challenge UN principles.

The 'Council for Peace' will have the role of overseeing the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and resolving global conflicts, while simultaneously criticizing traditional UN approaches. Donald Trump will be the first president of this council, having extensive powers to invite or revoke the participation of other leaders.
