Two Greek oil tankers were attacked by drones in the Black Sea, affecting Kazakh oil exports through the CPC terminal in Novorossiisk.

On Tuesday, two oil tankers operated by Greek companies, Delta Harmony and Matilda, were struck by unidentified drones in the Black Sea while heading towards the CPC terminal in the Russian port of Novorossiisk, intended for the export of Kazakh oil. These attacks come amid difficulties in using the terminal, which recorded a 35% decrease in oil production from Kazakhstan in the first part of January. Ukraine is targeting port infrastructure to reduce Russia's oil exports, thereby affecting its revenues. Although the attacks have not been officially confirmed by Kiev, the company Thenamaris acknowledged that the tanker Matilda sustained minor damage, with no injuries among the crew. The Greek Ministry of Merchant Marine confirmed the attacks on the two vessels, stating that they were attacked by drones without suffering major damage. KazMunayGas, the national oil company of Kazakhstan, is involved in these operations, having an extensive supply network in several countries.
