Dominic Fritz, the president of USR, stated that the plagiarism of the Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, is a serious problem, but the reaction to these revelations could be even more serious if it leads to public pressure and coordinated attacks. Fritz calls on PSD to clearly distance itself from the threats directed against journalist Emilia Șercan, emphasizing that journalists should not be intimidated in exercising their profession. He compares the current situation to that of Nicolae Ciucă, where attacks were organized against Șercan to silence the evidence of plagiarism.

PSD announced that it supports Radu Marinescu, considering the plagiarism accusations to be a political attack. PressOne's analysis shows that over 56% of the minister's doctoral thesis contains plagiarized text, which has generated controversy and reactions from USR.
