A vegetation fire devastated a house in a forest settlement in northern Greece, causing the death of two people, according to information from firefighters. The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon near the village of Liti, fueled by strong winds. Firefighters found one deceased man nearby and another inside the house, while a woman with burns was rescued. Authorities ordered the evacuation of residents in the area. Greece, like other Mediterranean countries, is considered a hotspot for fires due to climate change.

In France, the Ministry of Health reported at least 300 excess deaths due to unusual heatwaves in May, particularly affecting people over 75 years old. Meteorologists announced that May 26 was the hottest day in May ever recorded in the country.

In Romania, a severe storm affected Bucharest and 20 counties, causing the death of one person and significant damage. Nearly 2,000 emergency calls were received in Bucharest, and police and firefighters intervened to evacuate flooded homes and clear debris. The storm came after a heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, which increased electricity consumption.
