According to the Xinhua news agency, the fire broke out at 21:20 and was extinguished approximately 40 minutes later. Initially, authorities reported 8 deaths and 4 injuries, but the toll was later updated to 12 dead. The intervention teams from the Chaonan District Fire and Rescue Brigade acted quickly to control the flames. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
