McGregor, former UFC champion, has decided to withdraw from the race for the presidency of Ireland after consultations with his family, stating that the eligibility rules are restrictive. Despite the support received, he believes that it is not the right time to run. The elections are scheduled for October 24, and so far three candidates have obtained the necessary support. McGregor has previously faced legal issues related to allegations of sexual assault, which he has denied.
