The CIA has intensified its efforts to recruit spies in China, releasing a video in Chinese aimed at disillusioned military officers. The video, published on the agency's YouTube channel, features an imaginary Chinese officer who decides to contact the CIA, stating that Chinese leaders only protect their own interests and that their power is based on lies. In the video, the officer is seen at home, then on his way to a checkpoint, before he begins to type on a laptop, expressing his desire to fight for his family and country.

The accompanying text encourages the disclosure of information about Chinese leaders and suggests that the CIA can be contacted safely through the secure Tor browser. This initiative comes after the dismissal of Chinese General Zhang Youxia, suspected of corruption, and has already been criticized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a political provocation.
