The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denounced the accusations from the United States, which claims that Beijing has conducted nuclear tests in secret, calling them 'lies'.
These statements were made by U.S. Under Secretary of State Thomas DiNanno during a conference at the UN, where he accused China of using methods to conceal nuclear tests, including a test conducted on June 22, 2020.
China has rejected these accusations, demanding that the United States cease 'irresponsible practices' and stop seeking excuses to justify its own nuclear tests. Additionally, Beijing has ruled out participation in nuclear disarmament negotiations with Russia and the U.S., emphasizing that they have much larger nuclear arsenals.
These tensions have arisen in the context of the expiration of the New START Treaty, the last nuclear disarmament agreement between Washington and Moscow.
