Meringue concrete weighs just 200 kg per cubic meter and is ten times lighter than standard concrete. It absorbs kinetic energy through controlled crushing, replacing traditional end-of-runway safety methods such as water tanks. The concrete has been deployed in 14 airports in China and has demonstrated remarkable stability, with only 3% fluctuations in properties after one year. The invention was recognized with an innovation award.
