The Ministry of State Security of China announced on Friday that a "secret invisible war" is taking place in its territorial waters, accusing foreign agencies of espionage through the use of advanced devices.

Authorities have discovered marine animals, such as "spy slimy frogs" and "spy fish," equipped with sensors that collect data about the marine environment, such as temperature and salinity of the water, transmitting them via satellite.

Foreign buoys monitoring the acoustic signatures of Chinese submarines have also been identified. China has also mentioned the use of a new solar-powered marine drone to gather information related to naval activities.

The Chinese government rewards fishermen who discover spying devices in its waters with amounts ranging from 50,000 to 500,000 yuan.
