The physical flows of gold to and from the trading center in Dubai will be severely affected following the cancellation of flights by airlines, as a result of the US and Israeli attacks on Iran and Tehran's reprisals. Dubai is an essential supply hub for gold for the markets in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and India, and transportation is carried out almost exclusively by air for security reasons. Sources in the precious metals industry have confirmed that most airlines have suspended flights, which will lead to a disruption in the flow of gold for several days. The impact on global supply will depend on the duration of this disruption. At the same time, the spot price of gold has increased by 1.7%, reaching $5,277 per ounce, and analysts expect massive price increases and new capital inflows into gold, considered a safe-haven asset. Major financial centers in Shanghai, London, and New York remain operational, which will continue to influence the market.
