In the first half of 2025, the net profit of the Bulgarian banking sector increased by 8.7% to 1.97 billion leva. Net interest income amounted to 2.8 billion leva, while income from fees and commissions increased by 8.8%, totaling 849 million leva. The loan portfolio increased by 3.3 billion leva, mainly in the mortgage segment. However, there was a slight increase in non-performing loans, and deposits in the banking system increased by 3.8 billion leva, contributing to the stability of the sector.
