Bulgaria will suspend the transit of Russian gas starting in 2026, according to Prime Minister Rosen Jeliazkov. This decision aligns with the European Union's plans to reduce dependence on Russian gas, with the aim of ending energy relations with Moscow by 2028. The replacement of Russian gas is being achieved through imports of Azerbaijani gas and liquefied natural gas from the USA.
