Brussels-Midi station evacuated and rail traffic suspended after the discovery of two suspicious packages

Brussels-Midi station, an important railway hub in Belgium, was evacuated on Monday evening after the discovery of two suspicious packages.

The incident was reported around 5:20 PM, when one of the packages was found on a stationary train, and the other on a platform of the station, which also serves Eurostar trains.

The spokesperson for the Belgian federal police confirmed that train traffic was interrupted, and checks are currently underway.

Authorities have taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff in the busy station.
