Bangladesh has decided to order 25 airplanes from Boeing, initially expanding its purchase plan from 14 to meet its urgent needs. These measures are part of a wider strategy to reduce its trade deficit with the US and prevent tariff hikes that would affect the textile industry. In addition, Bangladesh has signed an agreement to import 700,000 tons of wheat annually from the US and increased purchases of soybean oil and cotton from America. The authorities hope these moves will strengthen trade relations with Washington.
