The Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, announced that the country is analyzing the opportunity to deploy armed forces within United Nations and NATO-led peacekeeping operations. This statement was made in the context of the report on the peacekeeping operations of the Azerbaijani Army, which emphasizes the country's commitment to international peace and security.

Azerbaijan has participated in peacekeeping missions since 1999, having over 3,000 troops deployed in various regions, including Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Hasanov highlighted that the peacekeeping forces were established in 1997 and have evolved despite political and economic challenges.

He also mentioned that Azerbaijan continues to modernize its forces, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, to effectively contribute to international stability.
