Two Russian citizens have been charged for the attempted assassination of Russian General Vladimir Alekseev: Liubomir Korba and Viktor Vasin. Korba pleaded guilty and stated that he was recruited by the SBU.

Liubomir Korba (66 years old) and Viktor Vasin (67 years old) are detained in connection with the assassination attempt on Russian General Vladimir Alekseev, according to the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB). Korba stated that he was recruited by the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) in August 2025 and that he was promised $30,000 for the assassination of the general. After being trained at a shooting range in Kiev, Korba received the order to assassinate Alekseev in December. Korba managed to shoot the general at the entrance to his building, firing four shots, and fled the scene. Vasin, an accomplice in the attempt, is associated with the extremist organization FBK (Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation, later renamed ACF). The two were assisted by Zinaida Serebritskaia, who rented them an apartment near the general's location. Alekseev was hospitalized but regained consciousness. Authorities have opened a criminal case for attempted murder and illegal arms trafficking.
