Apple's decision to eliminate ICEBlock and similar applications comes in the context of the intensification of actions by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Trump administration, which has led to raids and arrests among immigrants. Authorities, including the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security, have warned the app developer, Joshua Aaron, that it does not benefit from constitutional protection and that it could be subject to criminal prosecution.
