The company Anthropic announced that it has received approval from the U.S. government to restore access to its artificial intelligence model Mythos 5, intended for organizations that protect critical infrastructure. This decision comes after, at the beginning of the month, the Trump administration banned the use of AI models Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by foreign citizens, including Anthropic employees, citing national security reasons. As a result of this ban, the company was forced to suspend access for all customers.

Following collaboration with U.S. authorities, Anthropic has managed to obtain the green light to restore access to Mythos 5 and intends to expand this access to Fable 5 as well. The decision to block access generated critical reactions from European Union officials, who emphasized the need for Europe to invest in its own technologies to avoid dependence on external innovations.
