On Tuesday, unfavorable weather conditions, especially the formation of ice, forced airport personnel to suspend operations at Vienna International Airport until 11:00 and at M. R. Stefanik Airport in Bratislava until 11:15. The runways in Vienna were covered with a thick layer of ice, and icing continued to form, causing flight diversions to other airports. Václav Havel Airport in Prague operated in a very limited manner, with restrictions on arrivals and anticipated delays, while teams worked on de-icing the main runway. Similar problems were reported at the airport in Frankfurt, Germany.
