AfD leads in polls, surpassing the conservatives in Germany

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) has achieved first place for the first time in a YouGov poll, with 27% of the votes, reflecting voter dissatisfaction. CDU/CSU has dropped to 26%, while the Social Democratic Party (SPD) is in third place with 15%. AfD had historic success in the local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, obtaining 16.4% of the votes, and its popularity continues to grow, especially in eastern Germany. This trend could influence future federal elections.
