The tax administration in France has announced a new data leak, the third in the last three weeks. This time, the breach was identified on the portal dedicated to inheritances and exposed personal data and information about inheritances and assets.

The Director General of the General Directorate of Public Finances, Amélie Verdier, emphasized that the exposed information is less sensitive, similar to that in public legal announcements. This breach, previously mentioned by the FrenchBreaches website, would have allowed access to personal data related to inheritances and assets.

In the context of a recent cyber attack, which led to the theft of personal data from approximately 700,000 people, the Ministry of Finance has promised to strengthen data security. Victims will be contacted to be informed about the stolen information and to receive protection recommendations against identity theft risks.
