On Monday, a tourist resort in Argentina was shaken by a dramatic incident when a giant wave of 5-6 meters hit a crowded beach in Santa Clara del Mar, Buenos Aires province. Tourists, caught off guard by the force of the water, were taken by surprise, and the wave penetrated deep onto the beach, causing panic and injuring 35 people.

A young tourist died, being caught by the currents and struck by rocks. Authorities evacuated the beaches in the area as a precautionary measure, and the exact causes of the phenomenon remain unknown. Unusual waves were also reported in the neighboring town of Mar del Plata, where the same type of sudden retreat of the sea was observed before it hit the shore.
