An earthquake with an initial magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale affected the Nara prefecture region in Japan, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) and the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The earthquake was recorded at local time 18:28 (09:28 GMT), with the epicenter near the city of Nosegawa, at a depth of 70 kilometers, according to JMA data.


Subsequently, the agency revised the magnitude of the earthquake to 5.7. So far, no material damage or tsunami alerts have been reported. Japan, located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, is known for frequent seismic activity, and such events are common in this area.
