Following the collapse of a gold mine in Segovia, Colombia, 25 miners were trapped 80 meters underground. The local government reported that all the miners are safe and unharmed, and rescue teams are conducting operations. Mining accidents are common in Colombia, with 124 deaths in 2022 and 65 in the first seven months of 2023, although those in legal mines are rarer.
