Robert Gatman, a medical student, was diagnosed with a heart condition at the age of 2. Now he is helping to create an artificial heart.

Gatman, now a member of the MAVIS Technology Transfer Center team, is working on an artificial heart that can work for 100 years. His experience as a patient motivated him to get involved in the cardiovascular field. Gatman hopes to get EU funding to bring the artificial heart to market.
