The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced that in a few months, a new digital platform will be available that will connect healthcare service providers with patients. This platform will allow patients to view their electronic file for the first time after 36 years.
The minister emphasized that digitalization in health is a complex process that requires adequate infrastructure, and progress has been facilitated by investments made through PNRR. Examples of medical units that are already operating in digital mode include the County Hospital in Timișoara and the Marie Curie Hospital in Bucharest.
Rogobete mentioned that digital medicine requires an adapted approach, including regarding cybersecurity. In the next 2-3 years, the healthcare system in Romania will undergo significant transformations, and the country will align with European standards for access to medical data.
The announcement was made at the Digital Doctor Gala 2026, an event attended by the general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu.
