Doctors, including Alexandra Cucu from the National Institute of Public Health, emphasize that the tolerance of Romanians towards tobacco consumption exposes children to risks, as adult smokers become role models for the youth. Almost a quarter of Romanians smoke, and 15% of adolescents and 22% of young people consume tobacco products.

Cucu mentions that the allure of these products attracts children, who sometimes start smoking before the age of 13. The campaign "Romania breathes clean" aims to prevent tobacco consumption by informing and educating young people. Specialists collaborate with various organizations to promote awareness of the risks of smoking and nicotine addiction.
