Tim Fisher, a 63-year-old patient with Parkinson's disease, tested a new brain implant from Precision Neuroscience, which consists of a thin strip with 1,024 electrodes. It was placed on his brain during surgery and allowed him to control a robotic appendage via brain signals. The device, recently approved by the FDA, could help people with paralysis and could be used to improve surgery. Precision plans to commercialize the device in 2026, given increased demand from medical centers.
