The public interest in Romania over the last 24 hours has been dominated by top European football, amid the Champions League stage, but also by security issues, internal accidents, or political decisions.

The match in London, where Chelsea decisively defeated Barcelona 3–0 in the Champions League, was the focal point of attention, being presented by the Romanian sports press as an evening in which the English "demolished" the Catalan team. In the same round, Manchester City's defeat at home against Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus's dramatic victory at Bodø/Glimt, the draw between Slavia Prague and Athletic Bilbao, as well as the results obtained by Benfica, Galatasaray, Dortmund, Napoli, or Marseille fueled searches related to European competitions, Digi Sport broadcasts, and online viewing options or sports betting.

Regarding domestic football, the match between Poli Iași and Chindia Târgoviște, ending 1–0, attracted attention especially because it marked the victorious debut of Tibor Selymes on the bench of the Iași team and kept the team in the fight for the Liga 2 playoff. The complete results of the round and the situation at Chindia, which is in a decline in form, have fueled interest about the power balances in the second tier.

The subject of the explosion in Buftea, where a gas cylinder exploded in an apartment on the ground floor of a building, injuring several people, including a minor, generated numerous searches. The fact that the explosion severely affected the structural integrity of the building, which is considered at risk of collapse, has brought back to the forefront the issue of the safety of gas installations and technical control in homes.

In the area of security, the entry and crash of a Russian drone on Romanian territory, in Vaslui County, after several Ro-Alert messages were issued for residents in the eastern part of the country, has reactivated concerns – and Google searches – related to the war in Ukraine.

In political and institutional terms, the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the law on private pension payments has fueled interest in the evolution of this topic.
