In order to get an overview of the priorities and concerns of the public in the digital environment in Romania, we analyzed the top 100 viral news links in terms of volume of interactions generated on Facebook the previous day.
The online public gave priority attention to several news stories about road accidents resulting in victims. The most visible of these events was the accident in Cumpărătura (Suceava), in which all the members of a family with two children lost their lives on the way back from the sea [stirisuceava.net, buzoienii.ro, Stirile PROTV, ziaruldepenet.ro, Antena3, botosaninews.ro, monitorulsv.ro, g4media.ro]. Also, a young military man from Buzo lost his life in another accident [reporterbuzoian.ro], and a father who fatally hit his child with a car gave disturbing statements [WOWBiz].
On the sports scene, news from several areas also attracted attention.
