Member of the European Parliament Siegfried Mureșan states that the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union is crucial for the security of Romania.

Member of the European Parliament Siegfried Mureșan emphasized that the Republic of Moldova's accession to the European Union is not only a strategic objective for Chișinău but also an essential factor for Romania's security. In a broadcast on Antena 3, Mureșan stated that a stable Moldova oriented towards European values directly contributes to the safety of the region.

He warned that a pro-Russian government in Chișinău could generate significant risks for Romania and for all of Europe. Mureșan highlighted that Moldova's European integration is progressing rapidly, but success depends on the continuation of reforms and the maintenance of a pro-European government. According to him, the benefits of accession are not only economic and political but also security-related, both for Chișinău and for the member states of the European Union.
