The weather will change significantly before Christmas, according to the ANM forecast. Between December 24 and 25, precipitation will affect most of the country, turning into snow in many areas. In Moldova and in the mountains, the snowfall will be constant, with a consistent layer of snow in the Southern Carpathians and the Curvature. In the rest of the country, rain will turn into sleet and snow, including in Transylvania and Dobrogea. On Christmas, the snowfall will decrease, and the weather will calm down on December 26.

Temperatures will drop below normal, with negative maxima in the east and south, but closer to normal in the west. The wind will intensify, with gusts of 45-50 km/h, and the snowfall could be blizzard-like in southern Moldova. In Bucharest, the weather will be cold, with rain turning into snow, and temperatures will range between -1 and -6 degrees Celsius.
