The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, presented new technical measures aimed at combating illegal logging, including the installation of 300 monitoring devices on forest roads and the use of bodycam cameras for staff. The SUMAL 3.0 application will play a central role in reducing illegal logging. At the same time, renegotiations of the collective labor contract took place, establishing the retirement bonus at the value of one salary. Buzoianu emphasized the need to reduce expenses in key institutions, considering the limited budget of the Ministry of the Environment. The partial administrative reform is seen as an opportunity requested by citizens, and territorial reorganization remains an important objective, although there is no total consensus within the coalition. On the other hand, political parties have reached an agreement regarding the regionalization of Romsilva, ensuring a necessary restructuring, although less ambitious than initially planned. More specifically, the number of regional units (or county directorates) is reduced to 19, with directors elected through a competition. Buzoianu highlighted the importance of the central administration's responsibility towards citizens, emphasizing that there must be a balance between logging and tax increases.
