'After Cioate' is a documentary made by Mihai Gavril Dragolea and Radu Constantin Mocanu, which will reach cinemas on November 28. The film addresses the issue of violence and intimidation faced by those who report abuses related to illegal logging. The project was inspired by an incident in 2021, when the directors became victims of aggression while documenting the locals' fight against these loggings. Although the aggressors are known, the investigation has not progressed, highlighting the lack of protection from the authorities.

The documentary explores themes such as fear, courage, and social responsibility, emphasizing the risks of activism in Romania, a country with virgin forests, but also with a persistent problem of illegal logging. Special screenings will take place between November 24 and 27, followed by discussions with the directors and experts in the field. The film is produced by Manifest Film and distributed by Culoar Films, with the support of the National Center of Cinematography.
