INHGA issues warnings: Yellow code for floods in 16 counties

The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) has issued two hydrological warnings for the period from March 28 to March 30, 2026. The first warning, orange code, is in effect from Saturday at 11:00 until Sunday morning at 09:00, concerning the rivers in the hydrographic basins of Arieș, Timiș, Nera, Cerna, Jiu, Motru, Olt, and Olteț. This warns of significant runoff on slopes and rapid flows in small rivers, with risks of local flooding. The second warning, yellow code, is active from today at 11:00 until Monday at noon, and concerns the hydrographic basins of Ialomița, Prahova, Buzău, Râmnicu Sărat, Putna, Trotuș, and Bistrița. INHGA warns that increases in flow rates and levels may be recorded on some rivers, with possible exceedances of alert thresholds. Authorities are on alert to prevent any negative effects of these hydrological phenomena.
