The recently discovered galaxy J0107a has ten times the mass of the Milky Way and a barred spiral structure, which contradicts current theories about galaxy formation. It generates 500 stars a year, with a 50% concentration of gas in the central bar. The discovery, made using the James Webb telescope and ALMA radio telescope, suggests that complex galaxies formed earlier than previously thought, but researchers caution that more observations are needed for definitive conclusions.
